I remember my Grandmother always watching him on the Eyewitness News at 5pm everyday as a kid

I loved Bill Beutel, even at the end when he'd mess up like twenty times in a single broadcast! So sad.

So sad! He had such a distinct voice. I watched the tribute on Channel 7 last night but I never heard how he died, does anyone know?

I believe I heard he died from complications related to Alzheimer's disease. So sad.

im so sad about this! on tonight's 5pm news they had a reporter telling a story about how his wife was having a miscarriage while he was away on assignment and Bill Beutel immediately drove out to the Hamptons to be there with her and hold her hand
