Saw the high risk OB today-long
Nice enough guy. Since my gastro docs are all over the place he wants me to see two docs at Cornell so when the time comes they can give me the comprehensive care I will need. If things go as planned (fingers crossed) I will deliver at Cornell. Not sure how I feel about that. Also because I have some peri-anal disease I will probably need a C section. Ok, that was a lot to take in. If I get a tear, healing could be a problem.
So, I will see the two docs (one a surgeon who is versed on my type of Crohns and the other a gastro to work in concert with the surgeon and the OB. He thinks I should take a few months and try to get into a remission before I try again. A few months..I didn't want to wait..time is ticking for me but he explained that it's best to get this managed before I get pregnant. That was the whole reason I went to him. He also thinks my last cycle wasn't the best because of my flare.
I may not cycle again for a few months and I had a melt down in the elevator after I saw him. I don't want to wait. I'm 42! He said a few months isn't going to make a difference.
He said he had a 44 and 47 year old in his office today and they are doing fine. Patients of Davis. He also said that if Davis can't get me pregnant, no one can. Well, glad to hear that I'm seeing a good RE at least. The 47 year old was from donor eggs. The 44 year old..her own eggs.
Thanks for reading if you got this far. I have an appt on April 17 with the surgeon who is supposed to be the BOMB of docs for my issue.
yeah, that's what they all say.

I'm sorry you didn't' get the update you were hoping for Susan. I'm stuck in a holding pattern for different reasons, and it really sucks. I am glad that he knows his stuff though and am optimistic for you! I hope these next few months fly by for you and they get everything under control ASAP!

It's so hard to wait but it sounds like you are in great hands. My friend went to Davis and now has a happy healthy 2 year old.

Re: Saw the high risk OB today-long
I agree, you need to get this under control before. And you can wait a few months. I just turned 41 and had the most eggs at ER than when I was 39 (they got 15, can you believe that and 10 were mature versus the normal 1 or 2 in the past). Thank you Dr. Davis!!! Also, your high FSH could be the result of this situation. Take the time for your health and I know it will all be worth it. I know we all want to be pg like yesterday but it just doesn't work that way.
Sounds like you are in good hands now.
Don't worry, its never going to be easy

Re: Saw the high risk OB today-long
Although it is hard to wait I am sure it will well be worth it in the end. Being as healthy as possible will only improve your chances and he's right a few months won't make all that much difference! It'll go faster then you think!
