Anyone been to San Diego?
We are planning a trip to CA in Aug. We are staying in Anaheim for a couple of days then going to San Diego for a couple of days. We are looking for reccomendations for an inexpensive, clean, family friendly hotel in San Diego. Any suggestions? TIA!

Re: Anyone been to San Diego?
what's inexpensive? The Hyatt in Mission Beach is great. I think it's around $200 (San Diego is expensive)
I would just caution when you are looking that there might be some good deals near the border, but I would avoid them. National City, Imperial Beach, San Ysidro, Chula Vista, Otay Mesa, Bonita
you would be better off on the hotel circle (I-8) or going up north - encinitis/carlsbad/escondido but you are adding a drive then)

I'd rec one on the hotel circle - I can't remember which one I stayed at but it was a clean, regular, no frills hotel for a good price. It even had a good restaurant in the parking lot.

My parents recently went to San Diego and stayed in Hotel Circle. I think the Ramada Inn cause it was under $100/night and it included free transport back to the airport.
Also, places to go: Zoo, there is an aquarium just south of San Diego that they said was beautiful, the historic tram way around San Diego for you to see all the sights and it's a one time fee for the entire day. They also visited the naval yard to see all the ships in port, and took a tour of the decommisioned ones.
