2 questions....

What precentage of your clothing / shoe shopping do you do online?

Out of all the purchases you made online, how much of it do you return?

I ask because I'm tired of looking trough racks in stores. I rather spend the extra $$ in shipping then to deal with lines, digging for sizes, & dealing with store employees asking me if I need help 20 times..

I figured between the gas money, my time, my energy & my patience, its worth taking a chance & shopping online.

Is anyone in agreement?

Re: 2 questions....

I do about 90% of my shoe shopping on-line and about 90% of my clothes shopping in stores.

Re: 2 questions....

90% - I rarely buy jeans or pants online though. Those I need to try on. I am very particular with the items I buy. I get an idea of waht I want in my head and I will search & search until I find it. Much easier to find it on the web than wandering around the mall!

I find that I return alot of the shoes I buy online because they don't fit properly, but very little of the clothing I buy.

Re: 2 questions....

it depends

most of the time I love to dig thru racks

but for basics- like tank tops I would rather order on line

if there is something I want - like a specific item- I would rather order it- then go to the store to find it

Re: 2 questions....

I do 0% of my shopping online.

I am amazed at people that can shop online.

I never know what size to get even if I have clothes from the store I want to order from. Last week I was wearing dress pants that were huge on me the next day I was wearing pants from the same store that were 2 sizes bigger and they were tight.

I also find the stuff online and in catalogs looks a lot nicer and the quality looks better than it really is. I used to order from J.Crew all the time and a lot of times the stuff I received was not what I expected. The $98 dresses were so poorly made I could have gotten better quality stuff at Target for a lot less.

Lastly I get excited by how thrifty I can be in a store. I think the sales are better in stores than they are online. Today I am wearing a complete outfit form Banana Republic that totaled $17(pants, top and bracelet).

Re: 2 questions....

80-90% online for clothes. Shoes I rarely by online... I like to actually go out shopping for shoes.

About 15-25% returned (and I return either directly to the store or by mail... depends on what's easiest of how lazy I'm feeling).

I dont mind shopping online at all. I actually like it.

To be honest, I dont always have the time to shop in stores. Besides, I think I tend to spend more when shopping in the stores b/c my Eyes light up! Chat Icon

Sometimes, it seems more frugal to shop online. I look for what I want and I'm done.....instead of getting things I dont need........Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: 2 questions....

I am just like you. I LOATHE the mall.
LOATHE.
I hate going to stores, trying stuff on, schelping around.
I am the epitome of lazy.
Period.

I buy almost all my clothes from Victoria's Secret and a few other catalogs.

I know the sizing well so I RARELY have to return a thing...

ITA with Catherine! I wish I could shop online but the one time I did it, it was completely unsuccessful. I prefer going to the mall.

I never buy clothes online, I need to try them on before I buy them. Between all the different cuts of pants, I have no idea which sizes or styles will look good on me. In shirts, depending on the cut, I could be either a small or a medium. Id rather try it on then have to return.

Re: 2 questions....

NONE for shoes... my feet are wide and don't fit into most shoes, I'd never take that risk, even though I hate going to several stores and spending years trying to find boots that fit!!

The fun of shopping is digging through the racks and the new clothes smell lol I but mostly off line, maybe 10% online, usually t-shirts and such.
