Today is my weigh in! UPDATE
I have been dieting for 3 weeks now. I know it is not a long time, but to me it is a huge accomplishment (I have never really stuck to a diet before at all). My clothes seem to fit a tiny bit better, and alot of people have told me I look thinner, and my double chin is not AS bad
Wish me luck! I go at 1:30
uPDATE:
I am so upset. I only lost 3 lbs. I have been so good, turning down all of my favorite foods, etc... .for what?!?? 3 measly little friggen lbs? Atr this rate, it will be Christmas before I get to my weight

Please don't feel that way. 3 pounds is awesome... and it's definitely a start. My WW leader once told me that every pound is 4 sticks of butter. And you lost 12 sticks of butter. Try and look at it that way. 3 pounds is nothing to sneeze at.
Keep up the good work

"Only" 3 pounds? That is awesome and you should be proud. Our WW leader brought in a 1 pound replica of fat this past weekend and it just reminds you how much 1 pound really is. 3 pounds is 12 sticks of butter. Be proud!

Try not to focus so much on the number but focus on exactly what you stated - how good you FEEL!
Don't get so caught up on how long this will take just take it one pound at a time.
You are doing wonderful and should really pat yourself on the back!!!

Re: Today is my weigh in! UPDATE
Thank you ladies, so much. I was so dissapointed in the 3 lbs after 3 weeks, I was expecting like 10 at least. It is just so hard... I am eating handfuls instead of platefulls, diet instead of regular, seltzer instead of ice cream, rice cakes instead of cookies, etc.... it is sooo frustrating!! No pizza, no macaroni, no potatoes, come on I'm italian!!!!
I honestly thought it sucked, but I guess it is a start. Thanks for the encouragement, I just had this idea that I would loose 20lbs in 3 mos and then have to fight the last 10-15. I guess I will resign myself to the fact that this will be a battle - but one which I will win hanks for the support and encouragement, again!

We have to remember to set realistic goals. 3 lbs sounds right, and is a great accomplishment You are not going to lose all of the weight overnight. You also didn't put it on overnight.
You are right. It is NOT easy. But it doesn't have to be torture either. There are great low-calorie alternatives, natural and whole wheat pastas and rice that you can substitute. You don't have to cut all of those things out that you mentioned above. It is all about portion control. You dont want to feel deprived because then you will feel like you are on a DIET. And, as we all know, WeightWatchers is NOT a diet. It is a change of lifestyle.

Can you please give me some suggestions then, because all I feel like I am eating is fish (which I love, so not bad), soup, veggies, fruits, yogart, nuts, plain, cold cuts, 1 pice at a time meat... thats it. It IS hard, I just never really had that hard of a time losing weight before, so this is new to me. I know smaller portions on everything, but can I still eat a piece of pizza now and again? Or some baked ziti? Give me ideas, please because I am starting to feel like I hit a brick wall already, and I DO NOT want to give up yet. I have no extra $$ right now, so WW is not an option, what can I make healthy to eat, with *normal* stuff that is in the house?

I am going to bump a few posts here that give some GREAT meal suggestions.
All of those things that you are eating sound great, but perhaps you are not mixing them up enough. Are you eating ENOUGH? Have you tried to eat smaller meals more frequently? After we have children our bodies change dramatically, which is most likely why it is more difficult than it's been in the past. Maybe it's just a matter of switching things up a bit.
And, exercise is extremely important. it speeds up your metabolism like you wouldn't believe.
See, the thing about WW (and I am not saying this so that you feel the need to join - and ifyou can't then you shouldn't) is that it is all about eating "normal foods. It is all about making smarter choices and measuring and weighing what you do eat. Try keeping a journal of your meals and snacks. As you eat them, write it down. Then you can see maybe why you are not feeling satisfied...or perhaps you are having more sugar/fatty things than you realize.

Thank you! I do know I need to excersize more, I will be a walking fool once it gets a little warmer, so hopefully that will help

You just described me (except I haven't been 117 lbs in a long time. I averaged 125 - 130)
5'4 1/2 medium build goal weight 125, would be ok with 135. About 158 - 160 now.
I understand your frustration with 3 lbs (I would feel the same way), but the other posters are right it is an accomplishment
