Cactus Salons?
Do you recommend them? I'm looking for a new place to get a haircut and there's a couple by where I am. Is it like going to a chain like the Lemon Tree, or are they better? Pricing? Thanks!

Re: Cactus Salons?
They are a local chain on Long Island-- but they are definitely not near the pricing of Lemon Tree.
Most of their salons are full service as well as day spas. For the most part you are not going to get out of there for a hair cut and style for less than $40. (I know Lemon Tree is much cheaper)
I've used the one on Jericho Tpke in Huntington by the Jaguar dealership as well as one on Vanderbilt Pkwy in Commack. Only once I did a haircut (which I loved) the other times I used the spa services.

I get my hair colored at the one in Plainview. I love Matt so much I drive from Great Neck for him. Don't know who to rec. for a haircut though.
I'm trying Alexis at Mith in a few weeks. She did my hair for a wedding and did trim me. Loved what she did.
Good Luck

i went to the one in Massapequa and was pretty happy with them. they don't seem to be overpriced and the hairdresser i used was very nice. the staff was pretty snobby though. but i find that at pretty much ever salon i go to except Karma, the new one i started using!

I've been to three of them (Npt, Dix Hills and Hunt. Vill.) and was happy with all three.

Re: Cactus Salons?
I go to the one in Syosset for highlights and a cut. I really like the girls that I use but the front desk can be nicer. It's definitely not in the same league as Lemon Tree. For a haircut and blow it's $55. Half a head of highlights I think it's like $85 and a full head is something like $125.
