Rate how crazy you think this is
On a scale of 1-5
1 = not crazy at all
5 = totally whacked of your mind
Mini solo road trip to NC, Tennessee (Nashville, Memphis), Missouri (St. Louis), Illinois (Chicago) in May.
Should I try to go with a friend (you know, safety first)? I think that I really would be fine (as in I wouldn't be bored) going all by my lonesome.
Whaddaya think?

PS: i'm seeing family in NC and a friend in STL so i wouldn't be alone the whole time

5, but only b/c you are going without ME
otherwise, a 1. as long as you be smart in your travels. (don't be driving along 1-95 with the truckers at 2am) kind of thing.
also, don't stay at cheesy two bit motels.
but I would do it.

I'll vote 2. It's a little crazy. But if you're comfortable with it do it. Otherwise who knows when you will get the chance again.
Just be sure to have the car fully checked before leaving.

I'd say a 2 or 3.
I would do it- but I would be nervous about it.
Just make sure someone has an itinerary of yours and that you stick to it-god forbid anything were to happen someone would know where you are. Also check in with someone frequently.

Not only is it NOT crazy, it will be a blast!
I made a similar trip recently, and it's all on major highways. So if anything should happen with your car, you won't be stranded all alone.
The only really long portion is between NY and NC, but even that isn't too bad.
Tennessee is beautiful. I love Nashville! Go to the honkytonks on Broadway (even if you hate country music), and you'll make friends in no time.
I used to live in St. Louis, so let me know if you need any recommendations for stuff to do.
ETA: Duh, never mind. I just saw that you're visiting a friend in the Lou.
