For those possibly thinking of kids in the distant future...

What do you want to accomplish or have done before you do have any children?

Re: For those possibly thinking of kids in the distant future...

Lose weight!!!

lol -- its so ironic that i want to lose a lot of weight only to gain some back thru the pregnancy--but in order for me to have a baby...is lose weight and hopefully that will help our chances.

i told DH that one thing i wanted to do was one more international vacation before a baby--and we didn't think we'd be able to afford it--and turns out we could and we'll be checking off a big one when we're in Europe this fall!

Re: For those possibly thinking of kids in the distant future...

1. Become more financially stable
2. Travel (my parents were so strict that DH and I weren't allowed to go on a vacation together before our honeymoon)
3. Just enjoy being married for a few years

Re: For those possibly thinking of kids in the distant future...

I'm 33 and DH is 35 so we really don't have much more time to wait to TTC. I would love to travel a lot more, if that is possible!!!

Re: For those possibly thinking of kids in the distant future...

A lot of the things we'd wanted to do first have already been done... DH graduated from college, we're financially stable, we've enjoyed a few years of "alone time" in our marriage, we've had a few great vacations just the two of us. I'd love to be in a bigger house so we can keep the guest room AND have a room for a baby (we live far from home, so when people come to visit, it's for days at a time), but we can't sell ours in this economy, so it's not a mandatory pre-baby requirement, just a "wouldn't it be nice" kind of thing.

Re: For those possibly thinking of kids in the distant future...

We'd like to buy a home first.

We are already in our careers. I'm taking classes to further my education and DH wants to attend grad school but overall we are happy in that department.

We'd like a little nest egg before we start TTC.
