Those of you who have had 5dts w/ cryo
Did your dr. charge you to do cryo on day 3 AND 5? It seems they've hit me w/ almost $1200 bills twice... for cryo.  They took it upon themselves to freeze some of my embryos (after they told me they were all going to be pushed to day 5 so they put back the 'best')... just curious.  TIA!

I'm confused!
Ours were frozen on Day 5 and we paid 1 cryo fee of $1100.

OH! That's terrible Shannon. Why would they do that??
They should be VERY clear about the prices... and when you'll be charged.
I know for us, they said that if we chose to thaw MORE embryos (for our FETs) than we planned on transferring and had to re-freeze... then we'd be charged the $1100 again.
It's not fair that they didn't tell you exactly what was being done and what you would have to pay for...

My RE made me sign paperwork for all the charges that they thought we might incur. That being said, if you didn't know there would be two fees, you should try to fight it. You have nothing to lose at this point.

Thanks ladies. I spoke with billing and embryology today, and now I have to speak with billing again tomorrow. So we'll see.....
ETA: Sorry- I've been dealing w/ a lot lately and didn't get back to update this. I spoke with billing again and they told me I won't be responsible for the 2nd bill.  So I still feel like I have a mountain in front of me, but at least a little of that mountain got shaved down!

I am going to the Dr... right now, I did a 5day transfer and I am going to ask what their proceedure is and if you should get charged twice...

Wow, that's ridiculous!! I'm pretty sure I had some frozen on day 5 and then some more on day 6 but I know I only paid one fee. I would think it's an oversight, like they filed paperwork twice (each time they froze a batch). Hopefully you get this figured out quickly

This is how it works at my office too...
I just sent you FM... they only charge once no matter what day as long as it was from the same retrieval.
