Unofficial Guide to WDW?

Anyone buy this book? We are going to Disney next month, the book has some good tips.

I was wondering if anyone followed the touring plans and if they worked for you. It will just be 2 adults (DH and I), so we'll be able to keep a different pace than if we had children with us.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Unauthorized Guide to WDW?

I don't know that one - but I HIGHLY recommend the Unofficial guide to wdw (maybe that is the one you mean?) it is a fabulous book and since it isn't written by disney it isn't sugar coated. I also like that they have non disney info too - on Universal studios and IOA. They also have directions, medical clinics and doctors on call in case someone gets sick, grocery suggestions etc.

We have the Frommer's Guide and it was awesome. Very good and accurate tips.

Re: Unofficial Guide to WDW?

I used it years ago when I went with a friend...the tips were really helpful and while we didn't follow the plans exactly, we used them as a guide and didn't have to wait on lines.

we actually have bough several years of that book, IMO its the best one out there. the touring plans are really only good IMO if you go at a very busy time. Otherwise, you feel like you are running around like crazy. It also works though if you are trying to hit a lot of the rides without the fastpass feature. But we have always found that it was better to wing it.

the things that they suggest in that book though are great.
Everyone in general, always goes to the right, so you should go left, on lines in the park etc.

I love that it tells you the average amount of people to hit the parks each day, we usually pick the lowest # and go to that park.

Its just one of the best books, for a vacation, we swear by it and we have been to disney 6+ times, and always buy the new version before going, even though we know a lot of the tricks and secrets.

also a good section, the restaurants. it gives you real scoop on them and I love that they incorporate readers suggestions into each section.
