Not Ready for Dr. Braverman yet...
I've been putting off my consult with Dr. B for 2 weeks and now I have my records and I have my appt set up on this Friday with him, which I am cancelling.
I realized yesterday I don't want to go, at least not right now. I don't know the day I got AF, can you believe that? I don't know what CD1 is and I don't know when I am supposed to ovulate this month, I am amazed. I haven't had that in over 2 years. And moreover, I don't care, not right now. If this is not a screaming sign I need a break, I don't know what is. I didn't realize how bad I needed it either.
DH and I have been working out together everyday, we bought a BowFlex last month and I'm getting my azz kicked, but it feels good. I have lost 11 lbs in 2 weeks and I feel great. I can't remember the last time I felt like this, free, not on anyone else's schedule, not being a pin cushion, poked and prodded. We are having so much fun.
Reality - I will be 41 in May, so if I want to try again, I the break can't be a long way off. But it feels good for the moment.
So if I'm not around so much, please don't think I abandoned you all! I'm just mentally on vacation from IF.
As always, my love, support and prayers for everyone!

Sometimes a break is the best medicine from the emotional and physical effects of IF. I hope you do some fun things and really ENJOY yourself!!

You sound great! Congratulations on the 11 lbs.! I feel the same way, we are sort of on a break until we figure out a few things. It is nice to workout, drink wine, sleep in, not be bruised, etc...

11lbs in 2 weeks?!?! I'm getting a bowflex! Good for you on getting "things" in order and taking a break. Nothing wrong with regrouping, getting the proverbial ducks in a row and mentally preparing for the next round. Good luck to you!

It doesn't hurt that I have a husband who is a great shape to start with, who is highly motivated and a slave driver!
Second, I'm doing a special low-cal diet from the acupunturist for 30 days as well, to help me "cleanse" my system of the drugs. It's not one of those real CLEANSING (KWIM?) diets, just low cal, high protein (not Atkins).
But thanks!

Can we rent him to teach our DH's some drive! Actually my DH goes to the gym every day but he does it during his lunch break so he's no motivation to me...

Re: Not Ready for Dr. Braverman yet...
Scott was working out at work, sometimes, he couldn't do it if there was stuff going on and he convinced me WE should get the BowFlex. I can't see a difference on me yet,( you are always your worst critic) but damn, he looks good. LOL.

lol- Greg does too but I agree... I'm my own worst critic. I lost b/t 10-15 pounds before my last IVF cycle (and didn't realize it- though I knew I lost 'some' weight, I never actually weighed myself after that 1st initial weigh in- can you tell I hate scales ) and had ALL of my ILs (including any distant ones we saw) telling me how good I looked...

I think a break is a great way to regroup- on months when I do think about it or "do" anything about "it"- i feel so much happier!
now you make me want to buy a bowflex too!

Re: Not Ready for Dr. Braverman yet...
Enjoy your break. I just took one for 4 months. I will be 41 Sunday so I know what you mean with "can't wait too long". The first month off I didn't follow my cycle AT ALL and DH was kinda annoyed with me b/c he still wanted to give it the old try. It was nice to have sex for pure enjoyment and not because of anything else. So, I didn't really watch my cycle. Though I think at one point I was checking my temps and it was kinda wacky and then I was just doing it to see what would happen. Plus we took a long vacation that was much needed.
I'm back to being a pin cushion and the early morning appointments are beating my azzzz.
