So excited! Dh and i just booked a trip to california for this summer- our friend is getting married out there ni august. we're flying into san fran, staying there for a few days... then driving down the coast a little bit to san diego/la jolla where the wedding is... and then flying home from there. AND we got an awesome deal on airfare wtih continental... less then $300 a person! not bad for a cross country flight!

That's great, have fun!!
Just FYI, SF to San Diego isn't a one-day trip by car. We stayed overnight in Cambria, near Hearst Castle - it was gorgeous. It's a beautiful drive, you'll have a great time.

Re: yay! going to california!
yup- we booked directly through continental on continental.com. this was sunday night, so i'm not sure if the prices have gone up much since then. we also live in NJ, so we're flying in and out of NEwark airport, not sure if that makes a difference over JFK or LGA. good luck!!

Re: yay! going to california!
DH and I did this in December - great trip!! I had the best Thai and Japanese food I've ever had in San Fran. Bring a lot of film/extra memory card for the drive down the Pacific Coast Hghway - everywhere you look is a picture. We stayed at the San Simeon hotel on the way down the PCH which was cute and clean and attached to a nice resturant. Get seafood in Malibu at a place called Neptune's net. Amazing.
Have fun!!
