Re: For those who go to Dr. Braverman
The list is a little odd though. I have never heard of #2 or 3, neither of which is an RE. Isn't a DO a chiropractor?

Re: For those who go to Dr. Braverman
#3 is actually my OB. He specializes in high risk pregnancies and infertility patients.
ETA: As well as regular pregnancies and non-OB patients.
He is excellent.

Also- in the actual paper there is a whole article about Dr. Braverman, but I didn't get to read it and can't find it on the site.

DO is not a chiropractor. Both MD and DO's are medical doctors...They both go to medical school and choose a specialty.
MD is specifically a Doctor of Medicine and DO is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. They are pretty much the same - same state licencing boards, exams etc with the exception that DO's do a much more extensive training on the musculoskeletal system. They treat a the whole person vs just the symptom.
ETA:: Ive heard nothing but great things about Braverman!!!!

Re: For those who go to Dr. Braverman
BUT BRaverman is not an RE and he was my OB only 2.5 yrs ago. I am surprised he made it to the top of the list. Who chose him? Was it a vote type thing, like the best pizza on LI???? HE was an ob for 17 yrs specializing in pregnancy loss, and practiced infertility on the side, as many obs do. When he first opened his infertility practice 3 yrs ago he became my infertility doctor as well.

Re: For those who go to Dr. Braverman
I don't know the facts- just posted the article. Thought it would be nice for his patients to see. Who cares if he was voted in- he still made it...??

Re: For those who go to Dr. Braverman
HOnestly, when I went to him I knew he was not an RE, but my friend who I met in his office thought he was and he totally mislead her. I just don't want anyone to be milead. You are right that it doesn't matter that he was voted in...if that is what he was. But I felt the need to mention this. MAybe I was wrong in doing so, but I thought his patients or possible patients should be warned to take this article with a grain of salt. That's all. Who knows maybe he is the best...or maybe his patients just like him. Something to think about.

Re: For those who go to Dr. Braverman
we just started using him and my wife loved him. my friends went to him before he was with SIRM, he just joined them a couple of years ago. According to his liiterature he has been practicing infertilty for over 15 years. He was very knowlegable andhis staff was great, I hope he works for us the way hd did for our friends. no one else was able to give us the answers and do the immune testing that he did.

Re: For those who go to Dr. Braverman
Not that I'm a Braverman fan or not, but the heading says - "Best OB/GYN or Infertility Specialist"...He is an OB and not an RE. And since there is no category for RE, there are no RE's listed at all. He could very well be the best OB/GYN in the area according to popular vote...and he is not listed as an RE.
That listing might be a little more realistic if they actually had other Infertility Doctors - which are actually Reproductive Endocrinologists.
ETA: I think a better gauge of the success of an RE would be found by looking at SART results or going to the Top Drs. of NY results. For the SART you may have to look up Braverman by clinic since SIRM is based out of Chicago I beleive.

Re: For those who go to Dr. Braverman
I wouldnt depend so much on SART either though.. Many of those DR's will turn you down if they feel you are going to bring those stats down.. So they are very unrealistic..
Also Dr Braverman does not practice anymore as an obgyn any longer.. He is the Director of Medicine at SIRM.. Which makes him an infertility specialist.. And your protocol is is very crucial..
The bottom line is he was voted in I am sure he had to be selected amoung other Dr's in his category..

As I said above, Dr. pillitteri is my OB/GYN and he also specializes in infertility.

Re: For those who go to Dr. Braverman
I don't think the post was unappreciated...there was nothing wrong with it at all..it was certainly a good thing. I only wrote what I wrote because some people where questioning the infertility dr as opposed to the RE thing...I was just trying to clarify.
