litter box

Hi
I am getting a kitten Chat Icon

I am looking for advice on where to keep the litter box. we don't have a basement, and our laundry is a closet, not a room.

We have a very open plan colonial style house. I want to start the litter box in the spot it will stay

We have a guest bathroom downstairs, a full bath and a master bath upstairs. I am hoping to keep the cat out of the bedroom (ours)

Thanks in advance for your input

Re: litter box

I would put the litter box in the downstairs bathroom, even if it is a small one. I think it's easier to do the daily "removals" and to empty and clean out that way.

Good luck with the new kitten. Like the saying goes "cats are like potato chips, you can't have just one"Chat Icon

Re: litter box

I would either put it in the guest bedroom or the full bath. Depending on which bathroom gets used most and how much room there is for one.

Re: litter box

We have our litter box in our guest bathroom since it is easier to keep clean. Good luck with your new addition. Kittys are the best lil ones.

I guess I'm in the minority. I keep the litterbox in a spare room that doesn't get used.

I like to keep the litterbox out of sight.
I personally don't like going into someone's house and seeing a litterbox in the bathroom, so I don't keep them in the bathroom.

Re: litter box

I actually just posted a similar question. Leaving the litter box in the bathroom is not an option for us. I wouldn't fit, and I don't like that idea as we only have one bathroom.

I feel the same way. We have ours in a spare bedroom, but soon we have to figure out a different option.
