Question for those who highlight their hair
I've been highlighting my hair for a few months now and I noticed my ends are very dry. I use pantene conditioner but my hair is still very dry and knotty after a shower. Can anyone recommend an over the counter product that is good to use. I never had this problem and I've colored my hair in the past. I'm just looking for a quick inexpensive product for now. thank you in advance,

VO5 hot oil is good for moisture, especially the ends.

I LOVE Dove for Highlighted hair. It's the pink bottle. Try the shampoo and the condiditioner...they work great and they still dont weigh your hair down too much...

Re: Question for those who highlight their hair
My colorist told me that pantene, dove and most of these sort of shampoos and conditioners dry out your hair like crazy. Even if they seem like they don't they actually are stripping your hair. Don't know how true it is but I did switch for awhile and noticed a huge difference.
When I had highlights my hair was the same way, I switched over to redken clear moisture and once a week would use kerastase conditioning treatment.
Now I also use Its a 10 before I blow it out and that works good too.

ITA... I used to use the expensive products and found they dried out my hair. Switched to Dove and been loving it since.

YES! I spent a lot of money buying all Redken products- because that is what my stylist recommended. Well I couldn't even get a comb thru my hair - and that was after using their products for ultra damaged hair. Dove to me works best...

Re: Question for those who highlight their hair
Thank you for all your suggestions. I think I will try the Dove for now and maybe do a conditioning treatment once a week. It's so odd because I've been coloring my hair for years and it's never been this dry or knotty..maybe it's an age thing...

If you want a good conditioning mask that's not too pricey Target has a great one. It's by Soap and Glory (I think only Target carries that line) and it's called Hair Supply Super Gloss Giving Radiance and Repair. I use it once a week. It's $9.99

I'm definitely going to try this. I too highlight my hair and use Dove shampoo and conditioner. I spent a fortune on the Revlon products my salon sells, and I didnt like how they made my hair feel.
But lately my hair has been very dry and brittle, so I've been looking for a good conditioner to try. Thanks for the suggestion!

Re: Question for those who highlight their hair
I highlight my hair 2-3 times a year and I blow-dry and use a flat-iron almost every day.
I use Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Breakage Defense shampoo and conditioner and it works really well. If I use anything else, my hair is dry, static-y, and hard to comb through. I can get by using a different shampoo but I must have the conditioner.
The expensive products have always dried out my hair.
