Need advice...
We are going on vacation the third week of April to Florida for a week and for a friend's wedding.
I am thinking of getting my legs and bikini area waxed instead of shaving. My questions are:
I have never done this, when should I do it?
Should I not do this all at once? Maybe I leg one day, then the other leg the other day, etc...???
Is it really painful?
Is it hot wax?
Is it worth it?

I have never had my legs waxed but I do have my bikini waxed every 4 weeks---brazillian to be honest
It is a little painful---take 2 tylenols a half hour before you go and I would get it done 2 days before hand to allow the redness from the waxing to go away.
GoodLuck and have fun on your vacation

Re: Need advice...
I've had both done. I will do 1000 bikini waxes before I ever do a leg wax again. I hated it and it felt like when you fall on the cement and scrape your skin. It was awful.
Bikini waxing does hurt, but it's over so quick and the results are so worth it.
To me leg waxing was a waste of pain! I still had light thin hair all over.

Re: Need advice...
Take two advil before you go....or a few shots of Tequila....
When I go on vacation, I do this because I just dont want to be bothered with shaving at all. I usually have everything done the same day....legs and bikini....might as well endure all the pain in one shot...... And I find that when they do the legs, after awhile, you forget about it and you kind of get used to the pain...I try to look at a magazine to get my attention off from it....and the lady that does the waxing for me..she's very friendly so we start talking and it kind of helps.. I'll definitely do it at least 3 days before you go on vacation in the event that you get any redness, it will subside....

Re: Need advice...
I have had my legs waxed in the past and I continue to get brazilians.
I didn't find it to be that bad. I would advise taking Ibuprofen 30-45 minutes prior though. (I've found that Tylenol doesn't work as well.)
The only reason why I discontinued getting my legs waxed was because I didn't find it worth it, but that could also be because the hair on my legs is sparse and doesn't grow all that fast. However I was able to go almost 4 weeks w/o shaving my legs.

Re: Need advice...
I get both done all the time. I've been having leg waxes for about 12 years and now hardly any hair grows back on my legs. I love the results! I would get both done on the same day - best to go two days before you leave for your trip so that any redness or bumps can die down. Just some advice on the bikini wax - it's a good idea to "trim" beforehand - that really helps - and don't go when you have AF, cause it can be more painful

Re: Need advice...
first off it's SO worth it Tara. I started getting brazilians done a few months before the wedding and I beleive 3 days before the wedding I had my usual, but got my legs done also. It was wierd.....and for me, I felt it wasn't worth doing my legs since I shave everyday (I'm anal).
It does hurt the bikini area at first....the pain fades each time you do it. If you are only doing it this one time, I'd go 4-5 days before you leave.
Take advil an hour before. The wax is not hot, it's warm. If it is too hot, tell the lady....it can leave a burn.
If you are afraid, I'd do your legs first and if you can tolerate the pain, do the bikini area.....or get the worst done first since it's a smaller area (but more sensitive) then do your legs.
Good luck and I have a GREAT lady who does it privately in her home off the LIE exit 65 if you'd like. She is SO sweet and very good at what she does

Re: Need advice...
It's not that bad... definitely do it all at once. It goes really quick, you'd just be torturing yourself if you did it a little bit at a time.
Legs don't really hurt that bad until they do the lower front portion of your shin. For me that part hurts more than the bikini area. The wax will be hot, but it shouldn't be so hot that it burns.
Totally worth it. I agree with Shana - do it about 4 - 5 days prior to leaving because you might get all red and bumpy for a day or two.

Me too. Even at 8 months pregnant, I am still getting my brazilian bikini waxes. I never take Tylenol before, but that is a good idea.

That is EXACTLY what I thought it felt like! I did it for the wedding & HM - loved the after-affect, but hated going through all that pain!

Re: Need advice...
OUCH!!! I had my legs and underarms (I wore a strapless dress) done before my wedding, I was almost in tears. The legs didn't last that long, but my underarms lasted a good 3 weeks.
