I'm so pi$$ed right now
A few months ago I booked 2 tickets to Fairbanks.
Leaving NY at 4:20pm with a 2 hr layover in Seattle and taking a connecting flt to Alaska at 9:55pm arriving at 12:20am. I booked THIS ticket because of the 2 hr layover. We use a wheelchair for DH because he has issues walking. This flt would give us enough time and not stress about missing our connecting flt.
Well Alaska Air CHANGED their time and is now leaving 1 hr later! Giving us 1 hr to make our connecting flt! The chances of that are pretty slim! And if we miss the connecting flt, the next one out is 5am the NEXT DAY which means we have to sleep in the airport! OR they can offer us another flt with 2 connecting flts! Neither of them gives us much more than an hr layover.
I am on the phone with them right now. Telling them I DID NOT BOOK a 1 hr lay over for a reason, nor did I book a ticket to sleep in the airport. They can't even get us on another airline because they are all 2 layovers!
I am so pi$$ed right now. I told them I want some kind of compensation for being inconvenienced! Since they can charge me for changing my ticket if I need to I think it's only fair that they should offer me something for changing their times because THEY need to!

I feel your pain, I had a similar thing happent o me last yr and I was LIVID!!! to make matters worse then rarely compensate for the aggrivation b/c I guess in all that small print they are allowed to do that.
Can you request that you get off the airplane first so you can get the most out of ur time? Maybe you can still make it even with an hour, it just depends where the other gate is ya know..
I am so sorry for the trouble I def know its frustrating

That really sucks. I'm sorry you have to deal with this.
I would mention to the flight attendants that you have a quick connection to make and with your husbands mobility issues you would like to be let off first because you can't run to the gate.
I can't imagine you'lll be the only ones on this plane trying to make the connection so they also may hold the gate for you.

I booked 1 ticket through Expedia and they are being very helpful. I feel bad they are getting the brunt of my anger since it was Alaska Air that changed everything.
Expedia is requesting that we have assistance as soon as we get off the plane to get us to the next gate ASAP. They also gave us a $100 hotel credit that is valid for 1 yr. Nothing more we can really do. Just pray we take off on time and not miss our connecting flt. Or that the connecting flt from Seattle to Fairbanks will take off a little late.
The 2nd ticket I booked through AMEX and they weren't very helpful.
Alaska air was offering to give me a full refund and book something else at another time. Gee thanks...but my THAT week the tickets are $400 more NOW!

The Expedia rep did mention this to me and said if we aren't too late, they will hold the plane for anyone on the flt.
