traveling with passport that has your maiden name

is this okay?? we are going to st. martin in march and i am worried that i wont get my passport back in time with my married name on it.... can i just use my old one with my maiden name? its 100% valid

i think so. do you have your old license as a backup?

my dads passport came in in two weeks, and he didn't expedite it. maybe you will get lucky!

I think you can if the tickets are in your maiden name. But from what I've heard, passports are coming in pretty quickly, so you should be fine.

when you travel---immigration and customs has no idea whether your married or not. they go with the name that is on your ticket....and match it to your passport

so if you have a passport in your maiden name--just book the tickets in your maiden name and present the passport as is.

been married since 07 and i have yet to change mine. just booked a flight today and used my maiden name.

Just wanted to add that I received my new passport with my married name within days (literally) back in September. It was less than a week and that was without any expedited service. DH and I were going to Italy and I waited until the last minute to update my passport. So, if you're looking to renew it now, I think you'll be fine.

We're leaving for Aruba tomorrow and the plans are booked in my married name, but my passport is my maiden name so I'm bringing the marriage license.

I do the same thing. Whenever DH and I travel I use my maiden name because I have yet to change my passport...the sad part is that we have been married 2 years now!
