Washing baby clothes
Ok I need to tackle this one!!
Any advice? We are planning on using All free and clear.
I've heard somethign about BALLS that you put in the dryer 
Can anyone enlighten me on these balls and where I may find them????

i read NOT to use the balls...for some strange reason they take away the 'fire retardancy' of the clothes...
how or why - i don't know. i may've notebooked the thread - give me a few....
okay - it seems that it's fabric softener - not just the balls....fabric softener shouldn't be used because it lessens the fire retardancy....

The dryer balls that I have are a blue plastic/rubber, with small rounded spikes on them. You can just google dryer balls to see a pic. You can probably find them at bed bath and beyond. I know I saw them at linens n things but I think all of the stores are closed now.
I definitely notice the difference when washing towels. I don't normally use regular fabric softener in the wash and when I forget to throw in the the balls, my towels are a little stiff.

i heard about them for washing diapers and baby clothing. according to one review they don't get major stains out as well as regular detergent (though i don't know about that), but otherwise they're supposed to be good - no chemicals, etc. (at least from the reviews i read).
i think they're actually called soap nuts and i know you can buy them online. there are a bunch of reviews there too... i'd like to try them myself and may order them when we get a little closer.

Not quite, but I am looking into soap nuts for diapers. I'm talking about balls that go in the dryer that are suppose to soften the babys clothes without using fabric softener.

We use the blue balls  for all of our drying needs, so I just assumed we would be using them for the baby's clothing as well...I haven't heard anything bad about it.
We are using All free and clear to wash DD clothes too.
As for finding the balls- I got mine in BBB and they also have them for even cheaper in Christmas tree shop ...Blissful--we have one in Orange that is good. The one in Danbury is not so great IMO

Oooh Christmas tree shops! Haven't been there in a while! I'll have to go see if they have "Blue Balls"
