Anyone else's dog empty the garbage can?
Not the kitchen one with food in it... that would make sense! She empties the one in the bathroom with tissues, q-tips, and baby wipes in it!!
Whenever we leave her alone for too long - like, if we sleep in extra late, or if I am cleaning and focused on something for a few hours like school work - she'll wander off into our bathroom and tip over the little can. Then, she'll dig everything out and leave it there for us to find -- that is our "punishment" for not giving her the attention she feels she deserves!
Does anyone else's dog do this? She probably does it, on average, once every 2-3 months so it is not often but she gets in BIG trouble when she does it -- she gets a time out on her bed for over an hour!
Are we alone?

My kitten does this with the toilet paper. The only time she could be bothered with the toilet paper is when we dont give her the attention she wants. For exmample friday night DH and I went out and got in late. Both of us fell asleep on the couch. Around 4am I woke up and went to the bathroom. Kitty got up and I guess thought the day had begun Needless to say, I wasnt awake and just dragged myself off to bed but since I didnt feed her or play with her (which i do normally when I wake up for the day) she went into the bathroom and shredded a whole roll of toilet paper Meanwhile all I had to do was look at her and she had that guilty look on her face

UGH - yes. My Yorkie does this and no matter WHAT we do we can not break her of the habit -
She actually stelas tissues and Qtips and takes them back to her crate to 'hide' them ..............!!!

Yup...our chihuahua does this. Now we close the door whenever we leave the house. It's the only time she ever did it.

All of our trash cans have lids. My dog likes to shred tissues and any other garbage.

This is why we have lids that have the button to push to open on all our trash cans including the bathroom. Ali LOVES to eat tissues, and will tear up everything else....
