PIO shot -husband traveling
hey ladies -
i was wondering what did you do if your husband had to travel..who gave you your shot. I give myslef the loevnox but i just don't think i can give myslef this one..

It's not as hard as you think. What I do is I draw a target on my butt and then watch myself in the mirror. It was scary the first time but now I'm an old pro at it. I know there are also videos on you tube you can watch and see someone else do it.

My RE's office told me if I had to do it by myself (hopefully I won't have to!) that I should sit in a chair and inject in my upper thigh because it would be easy to reach.

Oh yeah, I've done it there too. It's a little more painful but if you aren't comfortable with your butt, this is always an option too. If it's just one shot, it won't be so bad.

When I was going through my cycle, my DH was often away on business and I could not do it myself. I always had back ups: friend, friend's husbands (those who were familiar with IF and the shots), co-worker, FIL (yes, FATHER-IN-LAW!) Everyone and their mother saw my full-moon!
Is there anyone in your family or friend who could help out?

Lol- same here. I've had my MIL give me shots. I've asked my mom but she'd seriously faint to we threw that idea out pretty quickly.... I don't know how ppl do those- I could never.  GL!!!

If at all possible - DON'T do the shot in your thigh, it's extremely painful!!
I used the point and shoot method...I would pretty much alcohol up my whole cheek and then just aim and go, watching in a mirror the whole time. Just make sure you push the plunger all the way in, it's very hard to make sure you get all the PIO out of the syringe.
Good luck - once you do it once it'll be easy!!

I've only had to do it myself once. I did it in my thigh. It wasn't that bad- I was kinda grossed out. It was really, really sore for awhile afterwards, though.

I did it in my thigh once and feel it was a big mistake. If you can, try to do it in the usual spot in a mirror. Good luck!
