How many follicles should you see on CD2?
I'm being a little obsessive but last cycle was canceled so I can't help but worry. Today is CD2 and I went for blood and u/s. I think I only had four follicles <10 and one crazy follicle that is 12.5 which the RE said could be leftover from last month (I had two big follicles when Dr. Chung was monitoring my ovulation last month).
I've never really paid attention to the number of follicles on CD2. Should they be seeing more at this point? I start stims tonight!

I never really paid attention on CD 2 either!!! I don't know how many I got yesterday on CD 3..
but Istarted stimming last night so we'll be in it together.

I've always just had the RE say "more than 10" on each side - I think that's the antral follicle count right? Since at that time the ovary should be quiet?

I'm not sure...I would think nothing would really be showing at this point. I asked the RE if more will develop and he was like "let's hope so, we won't really know until you are on the hormones for 4 days...".

I'm not sure...I would think nothing would really be showing at this point. I asked the RE if more will develop and he was like "let's hope so, we won't really know until you are on the hormones for 4 days...".
That's what mine says also. He said basically that afer 4 days of stims, you will "recruit" all of the follies that will be "committed" for that cycle (those are his words in quotes!)
So even though I have 10+ on each side for antral follies... like in my first IUI cycle I only had 2 committed follies for my IUI.

I'm not sure. Having PCOS I can never tell early on in the cycle b/c I always have bumps on my ovaries!

On my last cylce they saw 6 on day two, my dr. told me that there should be 10+ on each side for the baseline sono. This is how I officially got diagnosed with POF, because of the low follie count and VERY elevated FSH.

Oh no....sounds like I need to be concerned about this.
10+ on each side sounds so high...especially for me at 37.
Now I'm worried.

You may not get 10+ on each side, don't be worried. Every person is different and everyone gets something different.
When I went to the RE on Monday for Day 3, I was concerned b/c I wasn't getting as many (after stimming) as others on the board, I thought maybe I needed more/different drugs, or it was my age (40). My RE said that is just what my body does, regardless of the drugs.
Try not to worry!

Thanks..I feel a little better now. Wow I'm a basketcase already and it is only CD2.
