Regrowth of tube after laparoscopy
Please Do Not Quote
I had an ectopic pregnancy and had my tube removed on my right side a couple of years ago. I ended up having another ectopic pregnancy and the doctor said that the sac was lodged in my right tube. I told him that is impossible because my right tube was removed a couple of years ago. I received two responses:
1)The technician said that the doctor probably didn’t remove the entire tube.
2)The ER doctor said that sometimes your body can grow back a tube. It is not the same size as your original fallopian tube but it is a smaller tube.
Has anyone ever heard of this? TIA

I've never heard of regrowth, but most of the time Drs don't remove the entire tube for fear of damaging the ovary

O.k. thanks. That makes sense. When my doctor spoke to me after the surgery he didn't communicate that to me. I just wish he would have informed me b/c I was totally thrown when they told me that my entire tube was not removed.

I also lost a tube doe to an ectopic pregnancy. I was told they left me with a little piece of the tube they removed.
