Waiting until you can send a pic before
sending out your shower thank you's.
What do you think?
Should they be two separate mailings?
My friend had her shower in November, gave birth in December. I just got a thank you card from her with the baby's pic on it. Kind of like a birth announcement/thank you combo.
I thought for a second to do that, but said to myself,
#1 I think it is more important to get thank you's out sooner than later
#2 Who knows how long it will take me to send the pic of the baby. I might not have the time to do it on a timely basis.
So I sent out the thank you's and will focus on the announcements when I can.
What are your thoughts? Kill two birds with one stone or not?

I would say get the Thank You's out ASAP but that's just me. I know my MIL gets royally pis sed if you don't get her a thank you note asap.

I sent my Thank you the next day after the shower. For the announcements i have something totally different planned and have a whole different list of individuals that will be receiving them. I did however prepare my mailing labels so all i had to do was stuff and mail. I feel like it is 2 separate events and the time span between can be unpredicted so i would do 2 different mailings. Again this is just my opinion.

If you have the pic available and ready, I think it is sweet to have an announcement that is also a thank you. I am thinking though that there might be some people that are not going to get a thank you that you might send an announcement to, so that would be something to consider.
If the pic is not ready & available, then I would not delay the thank you to wait for the pic. JMO.

I would get them out now. You might need to include a thank you with your announcements for people who sent you a gift when your DC was born. If you wait then you will still have to send two thank yous b.c you really shouldn't send a shower thank you with the new baby gift thank you unless you give birth like a week or two after the shower.
Plus once the baby comes it gets hard to get thank yous out as it is - nevermind announcements.

This is how I felt. My shower thank yous have been sent out already.
