Ultrascreen Question
I had the ultrascreen on monday and the dr. said the sono looked good but didn't say when to expect the results of the bloodwork. I know the nurse mentioned something about results after the bloodwork at 16 weeks. So do I find out anything from this blood test? or do I have to wait until the next blood test?

Mimms I don't know if you want to find out the gender but if you did they take a guess for you?

I think I got the results on my next appt, which was a few weeks after the ultrascreen. I wasn't too concerned though b/c everything looked fine during the ultrascreen then the blood test just confirmed it. He said I was in the age bracket of a pregnant 21 year old. WOOHOO!  Oh, and I'm 32 so I got to brag about that.

We want to be surprised but I asked the dr. if he knew. At this point we had already been there about a half and hour and had already been through 2 sono tech's and 2 dr's. The baby was really active and uncooperative. The dr. was like lady we just want your kid to lay still and get the measurments.
The first dr. came back and I think he knew because he asked if we had any guesses and when we told him he was like hmmm...interesting 
Did you find out?

My doctor told me to expect the results in under a week. I had the ultrascreen on Friday and I had my results on Wednesday.

I got the results over the phone about a week later. They called me only because my risk was high for downs, came out to be a 1 in 68 chance. If the results were normal they probably would have waited to tell me at my next appt.

My OB said to call his office a week after my ultrascreen for the final results with the blood work.

for us - we had to wait until the 16 week blood test. We got a call at about 18 weeks with all my final numbers....they were great!

You should get ur results with in a week, most times they might wait until your next appointment if nothing is wrong. I got my results the day of the sono b/c i did the blood work a week early. The blood work is what take the time.

You can likely get your results prior to the 16w bloodwork but may have to call them if you aren't seeing the doc until then. They usually don't call unless they need to. After the 16w bloodwork they should give you updated numbers.
