crib bumpers
question ladies.. are you using/plan on using the bumper in the crib that comes with the bedding sets? are they safe to use with all the talk about SIDS? thanks ladies..

I've heard the new "statistic" about the bumpers. Don't know yet what we'll do. Those I've spoken to say they used the bumpers until baby started moving/rolling over. Another SIDS tip is to keep a fan in the nursery to circulate air. We have a ceiling fan in the room and will be sure to keep it on.
Pretty soon, we won't be able to use a mattress and LO will have to sleep on the slats!  I cannot keep up with all the new regulations and safety hazards.

i recently went to a baby expo they told me its safer to have the baby just sleep with the sheets and take the bumpers and everything out and just dress it up for when people come over

My DS is 20 months old and we have had the bumpers in from day 1. It is a very personal choice. My cousin died of SIDS and he wasn't in a crib.
You ahve to do what you feel comfortable with.

I have been debating back and forth if i want to use them when baby arrives. They are in crib now but not sure what to do when he is sleeping in there. To me the bumpers keep him from also getting stuck in the slats. I dont k now what to do either. Sorry i know i didnt help at all.

they are called
" BreathableBaby Bumpers "
you can get it from Babies r us- or buybuy baby....
thats what im gettting... if a baby rolls into it- its a meshlike material so they wont suffocate and the bumper keeps the baby's limbs inside the crib instead of strangling...
since we are also not suppose to have blankets in the crib either im not getting a crib set- just the sheets, dust ruffle, valences and breathable bumper

We used the breathable bumpers. You never know when DC are going to be able to roll over into the bumpers until after they do it the first time. I didn't want to take that risk, so we never used the regular bumpers.
