Onto Veg.

OK- so RJ goes to the DR on Tuesday for his 5 month check up, and I know the DR had told me we were gonna start veg.

Which should I start with first (ive heard the yellows???)

Also.... right now RJ eats cereal and fruit 3x's a day.... which feeding do I ditch the fruit and give veg instead??? Or do I just give both that feeding...???

I was thinking of doing....

breakfast:
cereal/fruit

Lunch:
cereal/veg

Dinner:
cereal/veg/fruit

* He usually takes about 1/2 a jar a feeding... but that last feeding I was gonna do like 1/4 of each...(therefore hes still eating the same amount...)

Any suggestions???

Re: Onto Veg.

That sounds good. You can also try

breakfast:
cereal/fruit

Lunch:
cereal/veg/fruit

Dinner:
cereal/veg

And then when he eats meat you can just drop the cereal at the dinner feeding

Re: Onto Veg.

I just went right into veggies (only squash, carrots, sweet potatoes) after the fruits, just stuck with the stage 1s.

(she is up to a full jar fruit/veg with 2-3 tbsp cereal mixed with each jar -- she LOVES her solids!)

We do:
Breakfast: 6 oz bottle
fruit/cereal

mid-morning:
6 oz bottle

lunch:
6 oz bottle
fruit or veg/cereal -- the babysitter rotates

dinner:
6 0z bottle
veg/cereal

bedtime:
6 oz bottle

Re: Onto Veg.

Bella is down to eating 4 times a day...
I am gonna ask the doc this week, how to work the third cereal feeding in...

we do

7am: 8 oz bottle

11am: 5 tbsp cereal-half fruit-half veggie

3:00pm 8 oz bottle

7pm: 5tbsp cereal-half fruit-half veggie

we introduced squash first, then sweet potatoes and now carrots. String Beans are tomorrow. So far she hasn't rejected anything and is eating so well...
