Which seafood is ok to eat?
I'm going out to dinner at Waterzooi this weekend, which is mostly a seafood restaurant. They do have other foods to eat, but I'd really like to try some seafood like mussels or something. Do you know if they're ok to have?
TIA!

Shellfish is okay to have as long as it's cooked through and served hot
Seafood to avoid includes any that's not cooked (sushi) and dark deep sea fish like tuna, swordfish and mackerel as they contain high levels of mercury.
Other than that, you're okay!

Re: Which seafood is ok to eat?
Shellfish is fine (per my old OB when I had DD) and my new OB. I was told to avoid the larger fish and tuna, tilefish, swordfish, etc.
Also to basically limit my fish intake overall to 12 oz or so a week. Otherwise it was good for me and healthy to have in moderation.
Also avoid any raw fish like sushi or raw bars.
Etd to add - we just ate at waterzooi on Friday night and split a cheese fondue and a mussel pot and it was SOOOO good. Enjoy!
