Re: Hotels in Disney
We are going in February as well. It's only my second time in Disney (the first was a whirlwind weekend---3 parks in 3 days... exhausting!). This time we're going for 5 nights, 6 days.
DH booked the Disney Carribbean Resort, which is their moderate resort. We heard good things. If you want Disney property, they have several hotels and resorts. The Grand Floridian and the Polynesian are supposed to be amazing but are $$$$$$.....Check otu disneyworld.com you can check out all their resorts there.
If you're only there for 4 days, I woudl recommend Maginc Kingdom and Epcot. FOr me, Hollywood Studios was fun, but no need to go back again. Animal Kingdom can be done in less than a day, I heard. We're doing that one this time.
ETA: I've never done Universal Orlando, but they have a park and SeaWorld.

Re: Hotels in Disney
I have been doing a ton of research on Disney.DH and I were thinking about going in Feb. too.... On the Disney website I found this deal.......7nights at Coronoda Springs(moderate $$ resort)7 day park passes, all transportation, and a $200 gift card to spend anywhere in Disney..$1200 for the both of us....
I've also priced flights on Delta and Jetblue from JFK to MCO for $368 r/t for both of us...
This seems to be the most conveiniant option, but I'm still searching......
Feel free to FM me if you want anymore of my findings
Also, Military are entitled to a free 7 day pass to the parks and their spouse/family passes are $125...also a nice discount at all Disney properties

Re: Hotels in Disney
The "Buy 4 Get 3 Free" offer runs from January 4 through June 27. The concept is if you buy a room & ticket package of at least 4 days, you will get up to 3 more days accommodations and park tickets for free. Also, if you travel before March 29, you will receive a $200 Disney Gift Card to spend while you are there.
The biggest savings are realized when you stay at higher priced resorts, as the real discount is in the price of the room. But this is a very nice deal no matter where you decide to stay.
I go to WDW several times a year, with family, or just my wife and I. I would be more than happy to help with any resort questions you might have, as I have stayed at most of them. If in your situation, I believe I would look into the Polynesian, Contemporary, or even Port Orleans Riverside. Just some suggestions :)
Be aware though, this offer musst be booked by January 24, even though travel is through the end of June.

How and the world did you get it for $1200? Is that including the $200 back? The cheapest I can find is $1600 at Pop Culture, the value resort...HELP

Re: Hotels in Disney
We are also going to Disney in February. We are doing the buy 4 get 3 free and staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. Total package was $1300.
ETA: we have stayed before at the Polynesian and the Boardwalk. I really like the Boardwalk because you can walk around at night to all the restaurants and stuff on the Boardwalk. All the hotels are great and it really depends on what your budget is.
