My face looks like a PIZZA!!
I can't take it anymore!! I went off my skin med's before we started TTC (my skin had been completely clear), and now that I am pregnant my skin is horrible!! It's those painful big under the skin pimples and my face just looks awful! My dermatologist put me on Azalex and erythromycin gel which are the only pregnancy friendly prescription meds and they are not working I am so happy about the pregnancy and I try to forget about how bad my skin is but it's nearly impossible when I am reminded every time I look in the mirror or touch my face. Is anyone else having a hard time with their skin?

Re: My face is looks like a PIZZA!!
I know it sucks.....but drinkning lots of water really helps. I noticed if I wash my face often, I don't break out as much.

I have a huge patch of pimples on my jaw line that just hatch and heal and then re-hatch! It's driving me crazy! and nowhere else on my face!

Today I got one in between my boobs (sorry if that's TMI)
I'm going to try witch hazel

My derm put me on Azalex and erythromycin, too. Neither of them have worked for me so I stopped using them.
Thanks to a post on this board, I started using the Aveno Oatmeal Bar to wash my face and have been really happy with it. I am much clearer now. I still get the occassional breakout but it's so much better than it was.
I also switched my makeup to Bare Escentuals and I think that helped a lot too.

Re: My face looks like a PIZZA!!
how far along are you??? I am about to go into my 3rd trimester and my face has cleared up. I was on meds before I got pregnant and was so scared when I went off the meds. By no means did it go away but it has gotten better as I get further along in the pregnancy

I'm not very far at all, just 5 weeks! I just hope it doesn't get much worse before it gets better

Re: My face looks like a PIZZA!!
I can relate...I am now breaking out on my eyebrows. Its gross and painful. I'm only 6 weeks and hoping this will get better as my body adjusts to the hormones.

I think I will try the oatmeal bar. I used to use Bare Escentuals for a long time but switched to a tinted moisturizer last year because it feels lighter on my skin.

Oooh I'll have to try this- thanks for the recommendation Lizzy!! I've been using Belli facewash and I don't see too much of a difference...
To the OP...my skin was at its worst in the very early stages of pregnancy, and it did get better...so here's hoping!

Re: My face looks like a PIZZA!!
My back is breaking out like crazy... but in the first few weeks of being pregnant my face broke out too - but has since calmed down.
I was prescribed the topical gel too... seems to work some of the time...
Morning and Night I use:
Aveeno Oatmeal Bar Dickensons Witch Hazel (such a difference than using regualr WH) and I noticed that moisturizer contributes to my breakouts...
I hope this info is helpful...

I second the switch to mineral makeup. This has made a big difference for me.

Re: My face looks like a PIZZA!!
i have had clear skin my whole life i was very very lucky considering both of my parents had bad acne. and from week 4-12 my bad broke out so bad it was terrible and just huge disgusting pimples. since hitting the 12 week mark its gotten a bit better the ones that are there are clearing up and not too many new ones. it may clear up since in the begining theres such bit spurts of hormones.

Re: My face looks like a PIZZA!!
Mine is really bad too. I'm not on any medication for it, I'm just riding it out until I have the baby and hoping it will clear up once the hormones are out of my system. I guess we have to remember, this too shall pass.
