Can't Decide Which Furnirure Pieces To Get
We decided on an Espresso colored Pali set for the nursery. The double dresser and forever crib are definites, but I keep changing my mind about everything else. I really wanted the hutch for above the dresser b/c I thought it was such a nice piece, but DH thinks it's not worth the extra $. Then I can't decide between the 5 drawer tall dresser or the armoire. I always liked an armoire, but it is quite tall and if we get the hutch (for above dresser) I feel like maybe it will look like "too much" in the room, esp. since it's a dark color. Lastly, I think we should get a night table since this is her "forever" furniture and we'll want to put it next to her bed once it's full-size. Plus I can use it now as a table next to the glider. If we wait to get the nightstand this model may no longer exist. As you can see, I'm very overwhelmed with this decision! Any thoughts?

Re: Can't Decide Which Furnirure Pieces To Get
The first thing I would do is measure the room and see what would fit with a twin or full bed depending upon what the crib converts into. The next thing - do you have a closet in the room now? Personally I am with your DH on this - the hutch is a waste of $$$. No offense to anyone who has one, but in my mind it just is a climbing toy when the child is old enough to stand and I would be afraid of them pulling it down on themselves while changing them. Not saying it isn't cute - I just think it is a waste b/c I would rater put art on the wall. I would get the night table since you plan on using the crib as a headboard and footboard. It can be a table next to the glider. I would also get a piece that is a changing table. As for the rest of the furniture it depends upon what fits in the room and the storage you have there.

We are having the same problem but have pretty much decided what we need and what will fit in the room. We are not going with the armiore because we have a big closet and there is no reason to have the extra draws and it is such a big piece. We decided on a crib and a 6 draw dresser, with a changing table, a mirror and a hutch for the baby's books and pictures. We are also getting a glider and possibly a toy chest but I might opt for the night stand--I think that is a good idea.
I agree with the previous poster though that it all depends on how much space you need for your baby's clothes. If you don't need all that space then you may not need as much furniture as you think you do.

It really is all about the size of the room with the furniture you are getting - The one set I liked from Behrs i could only get a crib and long dresser (no hutch - DH didnt like it either) but we went to Bellini and got crib, long dresser and armoire (WHICH I LOVE).... BUT the sizing of the furniture was key....
GOOD LUCK

We opted for the hutch with ours b/c we knew DD pretty much had her own library. We use it for books and didn't need to invest in a bookshelf, which would have taken up even more floor space.
