DH is going to China.....

....Shanghai specifically- for work. He is going at the end of Feb/Beg of March for 2 weeks, maybe more.

Has anyone been?
Got any suggestions as to where to go- what to see, etc?

I'm sure they will have down time- and I want him to have an amazing experience.

We went to China at the End of October. and we stopped in Shanghai.
That was a very interesting city.

What would you like to know?

Have him carry a some wipes they do not always have toliet paper in the public bathrooms.

also, let him know that there are not always toilets like we have here. Some places have "squatty potties". It is just a hole in the ground that if you have to "ya know" you need to squat to do your business. We had heard about them, and we saw one, but never used it. I would also bring anti-bacterial gel or wipes. One bathroom we used did not have running water in the sinks to wash your hands.

They pretty much have everything we have here, there. If he gets a chance to, tell him to hit a Walmart. The grocery sections are very interesting to say the least.

We loved China. We were there in 2005 to adopt our angel. We had a great time.

OH- It is cold there and they do roaming brown outs, even in some of the hotels, so bring extra warm clothes. We were there in the summer, but heard this from other who traveled in the winter.

When we were in Shanghai in October it wasn't that cold. We just needed a fall/spring weight jacket. When we were in Bejing we needed a wamer coat.

Must bring the Wipes for the Toliets....A MUST!
Get the ones for the bathroom and also get the one with germ fighters for the hands...and try not to get them mixed up...or it will sting....(thats from experience)

Only drink bottle water even to brush your teeth. No need to be running to the bathroom

When you go to the stores...always bargin never go with the first price they give you.

We bought lots of beautiful things there. we purchased some jade, string of pearls, a silk comforter and some art.

it was quite the adventure...I hope your DH enjoys it.

What airline is he flying? if its Air China...they played three movies and only one was an American Movie and the other two had sub-titles.
