Re: Cruises out of NY

Hi Jackie,

Were you thinking of any particular ports of call, or just any cruise out of NY?

Cruises originating at NY area ports have a few common itineraries, depending on the time of year. Those include, but are not limited to:

-New England & Canada
-Bermuda
-Bahamas
-Caribbean & Mexico
-Transatlantic (to Europe)

I would suggest choosing where you would like to go first, then find a cruise line and itinerary that fits your needs.

I'm curious to know as well. From the research I've done, most ships seem to leave from Jersey. I would like to go this route to save time flying but the itineraries look a little blah or go to places I have already been.

We did the Carnival Miracle out of NY to the Carribean in May. It was the best time EVER!!!!!!!!!

We had so much fun that as soon as we got home we booked our next one.

The ship was so much fun and clean. The food was very good. Our room was huge. The staff was super nice. And the islands were so much fun!!!

And the best part is, you don't have to worry really about how much you bring with you like you would if you flew.

Re: Cruises out of NY

we are booked on the Miracle in April.

I'm so excited by DH and I love cruises and we can't wait to see the look on our DC's faces when they see the ship and realize how big this boat really is

Re: Cruises out of NY

I am hoping one day to go on a cruise out of Ny. First have to find out if i will be on the NKOTB cruise(ok i need to stop) back to the point. when i am ready to go , i want to go out of NY to avoid having to pay for flying. I will turn to Dawn at Cruise One (she is a vendor here) with a TON of info. Always hated her for going on so many cruises. and now she books them for a living. she was a LPN. weird change of careers.

Re: Cruises out of NY

We left out of NYC on the Norwegian Dawn, I wouldn't go on that ship again but it was convenient.

I would definitely recommend leaving out of Brooklyn on Princess. We had a great time. It went to Bermuda, San Juan, St. Thomas and Grand Turk.

Re: Cruises out of NY

We took two cruise out of NY, one on NOrwegian Dawn and one on the Spirit. We liked the Dawn, hated the spirit. The Spirit was a much older and smaller ship. The Dawn was fine. But I think it is important to pick the iterinary. We did a short 6 day to the carribean, and it was a little boring on the Spirit. We did a 7 day on the dawn and I booked excursions in each port, had a blast.

we took a crusie out of red hook bklyn - Princess. It was a 9 day cruise and hit bermuda and a few other islands. Had a great time. Princess and rc are my fav cruise lines. the food on princess i think is better but i like rc for the ship design and the daily activities.
