Do you think @ 15weeks gender can be determined?

I have to see my perinatologist next Monday. I will be 15 weeks and 3 days.
He has AWESOME equipment. I mean, my 12 week sono pictures were unbelievable!!!! so clear.
I have to have the hematoma checked at this appointment and they always do a sono (usually an internal bc they cant see it on an external).

So, my point....you think they can tell at that point since their sono machine is so advanced?

Anyone else have sex determined before 15 weeks for a reason like this?

I had a 12 week sono on Friday and the doctor said she could guess the gender (but baby didn't want to play! Chat Icon ) and she said she would be about 70% sure at that point. I think they could make a good guess at 15 weeks, although your doctor might not want to - sometimes they don't like to say unless they're really sure.

it all depends on your sono tech. ours refused to guess until 20 weeks.

keep in mind at 15 weeks - boy parts look like girl parts...it's all about the 'angle of the dangle'. There's a great website with photos - to show how hard it is...but i don't know it....

its definitly possible, we have a sonogram machine on our floor, and thee are about 5 of us that are pregnant. We have sonogram sundays!! lolChat Icon and we actually saw that both my friends were having a boy by then. 1 was 15 weeks and 1 was 16 weeks. So its possible with the right angle and lighting.

That is awesome!!!!! The one bad thing about being in nursing ed is I dont belong to one particular floor, (i cover 5 units) so it would be hard for me to do that!!)

i am dying to know if they can tell next week.
Or if they willChat Icon

Anyone else????

With DS, at 15 weeks, my OB/GYN said that I was having a boy but his exact words were: "Dont mortgage your house on it" Chat Icon Anyway, at 20 weeks it was confirmed...a boy!

I used to go for weekly sonograms and at 11 wks, they told me they were 90% sure it was a boy and at my Level 2 at 19 wks, they confirmed it!

Yes.

yes, i think that they can be almost certain of the gender by then, but not as sure as they are at the 20 week ultrasound.

i just had an ultrasound last week at 11wks, 6 days, and the tech told me with about 70% certainty that it's a boy. i go for my ultrascreen tomorrow, so we'll see if that tech will play Chat Icon

good luck!!!!
