Not happy with my Obgyn LIttle Long...
Originally for my regular appointments before I was prego, I saw one doctor and he was great. Now that Im pregnant they are sending me to two diff offices, I have seen 5 diff doctors in 15 weeks and 3 diff ultrasound techs, Ive spoken to 4 diff nurses. None of which can remember us. I asked if maybe I can have just 2 doctors all the time. I feel like Im a part of a factory. I went last night and the Dr who we have seen just a two weeks ago, reintroduced himself to us. I was like I know who you are we met with you for an hour two weeks ago about my thyroid. He just laughed and said "OH"
SO I told the front desk, that the location that they keep sending me to, is too far adn they got snippy and said "WELL it cant always be at the place you want it to be" I never was sent to the place I wanted to be since the beginning. The nurse just called me now and said the same thing...out of nowhere. Why did she have to take the time to call me just to tell me that? Im totally freaked out by it. I did ask for a release form kindly last night, after the experience I had, maybe they dont want me leaving.
Also, the doctor I had last night, I was dreading seeing him again.... I asked for a renewal on my prenatal pills and he laughs and says WHY! I had to explain myself and say...welll Im out its been over 3 months! Hes like okay Why do you want a prescription, I had to explain to him that I would go buy them myself but its actually less expensive to just pay my low co pay. Then he laughed again and said OH. Then asked me what Kind and I said Chewable 83...He said to me..."COME on you are going to have to set an example soon, you re going to be a mommy and your still on chewables?" I told him that the OTHER doctor recommended it since I was throwing up my normal pills and it worked. UGH I wanted to rip his hair plugs out! Who says that to a first time mom.....
SO does anyone know of a nice doctor. Maybe 2 doctors in an office located in Suffolk county.

Wow! I can't believe you had an experience like that, especially the doc about the prenatal pills is uncalled for. I think you were right to ask for a release form.

Re: Not happy with my Obgyn LIttle Long...
I go to University Associates in Ob/gyn in Stony Brook (delivering at Stony Brook). I think there are 7 doctors in the practice, but all of my appts. are with my one doctor, which I love. I know my doctor might not be there when I deliver, but I feel more comfortable having my monthly visits with someone who knows me. There is one location, and all sonos are done on site. I also looked into Three Village Women's Health, but didn't like that each visit was with a different doctor. Before that I went to Arato and Blayzwch (probably butchering that name) in Stony Brook, but thought that with only 2 doctors (who delivered at 2 or 3 hospitals) I could wind up with someone completely random delivering my baby, since the odds were good that the two of them might not be there.
Before that I went to South Bay Ob/gyn in West Islip and hated them. Horrible horrible office and I waited forever in the waiting room for appts.
And when I couldn't swallow the prenatals my doctor was SO nice, gave me a chewable prescription, but also said I could continue with Flintstone's and a folic acid supplement.

I had a horrible waiting room experience at Oakdale Obgyn...Im talking if my appointment was at 3pm I would be there sometimes till 5:30 still waiting. Im going to check them out. Thank you for the recommendation! A few people actually recommended this place. It would be so nice to have just one or two doctors to deal with!!!
South bay I have heard stories....Although I did hear of an awesome doctor that branched out of there...I think her name is Sarah Swhartz...shes supposed to be great.

He then went on to say...you should just learn to swallow them. Im like ok doc...enough already. I said Ill find other ways to set examples for MY children other then forcing horse pills down my throat during morning sickness. He then said I was going to be trouble.

I use the same practice...University Associates and delivered 2 babies with them. I adore my primary doctor and was lucky enough to have him deliver my second. I also saw my doctor primarily through both pregnancies. I highly recommend the doctors.

I'm so glad to hear another good review of them! I'll also really looking forward to the new maternity wing at Stony Brook hospital!
