Re: pilates
I am not pregnant right now, I have a 1 year old, but I did pilates (mat not reformer) in my first trimester and I ended up spotting so I stopped. After that I discontinued Pilates! If your instructors know that you are preggo though I am sure you are fine. I continued to work out (mostly in body conditioning/sculpting classes) up until my due date. I had the baby 3 days late but I did a 4 mile walk on my due date. I pushed the baby out in about 15 minutes and the doctor said it was in part due to the fact that I was in really good shape. It definitely doesn't guarantee an easy delivery if you work out but it can certainly help. I definitely plan to work out thru my next pregnancy for as long as I can as well. Good luck to you!

Re: pilates
I don't know about pilates spefically but i know that in yoga for example, you can't continue doing regular yoga, you have to do prenatal yoga as there are specific poses that should not be performed while pregnant. I switched to prenatal yoga classes once I was pregnant. Not sure how "posey" pilates is though....I would think you should mention your pregnancy to your pilates instructor and see what they think. ETA: Maybe there's prenatal pilates??

I had the same kind of situation. I was taking cardio kickboxing for years and even when I found out I was pregnant, but then had a spotting scare. Everything was fine, but I stoppped taking the class. I still go on the treadmill about 4 times a week and now watching a prenatal pilates DVD my sister got me, which I thought was great. I'd like to try and stay in shape without pushing myself

Re: pilates
I did pilates from the beg of my pregnancy until 39 weeks. At then end we were doing lots of stability ball and mat exercises but still some reformer. My labor was 5 hrs start to finish, no drugs and I only pushed for 15 minutes. My dr also said it was b/c I was in such good shape. So keep on doing it as long as you feel good and have no issues!

Re: pilates
I had been doing pilates up until getting pg. My OB told me NO pilates unless it was pilates specifically geared towards pg. He said many of the exercises indirectly involve abs and he said not to do it.
