Bubba's got cancer
After having to put down our 16 yr old cat, Mikey, in August (he had
gastric lymphoma and just too anemic to even make it to chemo), we
find ourselves facing kitty cancer again.
The biopsy results are in and Bubba (12 yrs) has colonic
adenocarcinoma. He had lost a lot of weight since Mikey died in August
and after sono and palpating it, they did surgery to remove the mass in
his colon. He had the surgery a week ago and is doing amazingly well.
He's back to eating like a pig and seems more active than he has been
in months.
The surgeon said that the margins were clean and that they also
biopsied the liver and nearby lymph node, which were both clear. (This
is good, right?) She suggested making an appointment with the
oncologist to discuss chemo as a just-in-case kind of thing. I didn't
speak to her long, b/c I was at work and couldn't talk long. We have a
followup appointment on Thursday, as well as the oncologist's
appointment then, so I'll have all my questions answered then.
