A little worried re: my registry
A few weeks ago, my mom told me that her friend went to get a gift-- that my mom told her to get. She even called my mom from the store, and said-- it's not the same one you told me, but it's on her registry, etc. Now, this woman is not the sharpest tool in the shed, so me and my mom were like what is she talking about???
We were just discussing it again today-- and I said, you know-- there is someone with my same name (my maiden name), but they live in MD-- It's her married name, so her DH has the same last name. I checked her registry, and sure enough-- there was the product my mom's friend was talking about. Which btw she claimed to have purchased, but shows up as unfulfilled-- but that's another story.
I am registered under my hyphenated name, and DH's name. This woman obviously knows my maiden name, and would know that DH would have a different last name if she looked at the print out, or even the date or state for that matter, AND she came to my wedding and would have some vague memory of my married name or DH's name-- but whatever.
Now I am worried that people are going to buy stuff and send it to Maryland, as opposed to me and DH. Most of our baby gifts will be sent to our home once the baby is born since that is when gifts are purchased.
I am not sure what I can do about it-- by registering under both names, I thought I would be covered with people finding me, but that doesn't account for those who do not pay attention.

Re: A little worried re: my registry
As long as you are in different states and you and the other person's DHs have different first names, I really wouldn't think many people would confuse the two registries. Do you and the other girl have close due dates? Maybe you can change your last name to your married name only and put your maiden name under "alternate" name. I really wouldn't worry too much about it.
