Is your dog chipped??
I finally got my Bella chipped! She was supposed to have it done 2 years ago while she was under anesthesia getting her teeth pulled. The vet forgot and I choose not to do it while she was awake since I was afraid the huge needle would hurt her. Fast foward 2 years and still no reason for Bella to go under, I decided to suck it up and put her through what I thought would be the pain- turns out she didn't even flinch!! She cries more from her reg shots!! So now my Bella Baby is officially chipped! lets just hope we never need to use it

Char came that way.
Just make sure you register it 
That way, when they scan that chip they know she belongs to you and how to contact you.

I got Sofie chipped when she got spayed.
I don't remember if i registered her, I wonder if my vet would have done it for me because I don't really remember having to do anything afterward.

Brinkley was already chipped but I had to change the registration.

You should check with them - I know my vet said that the registration and any changes on it were up to me. They had the ability to scan but not go and change the information.

She came chipped, and we had her registered during her first vet visit. We use Home Again - very inexpensive.

anyone know where to have my dog scanned other than my vet? My vet doesn't have a scanner and I need to get the chip # to have my dog registered (people I adopted her from didn't know #)?

You should be able to go to another vet office...there may be a small charge, but it's worth it to make sure you get her registered to you.

Oh good! A lot of people don't realize they have to do this and then the chip is useless

DH and I aren't getting a dog yet (our apt. doesn't allow them) but when we do ours will be chipped.
I've heard a few stories where the chip has been useful in people finding lost pets and that convinced me.
