My favorite authors are Jennifer Cruisie and Julie Garwood ( romance).
I enjoyed the Twilight series as well

The Other Boleyn Girl by Gregory
The Secret Life of CeCe Wilkes by Chamberlain
Something Borrowed (series) by Giffin (light and fun)
Kite Runner AND Thousand Splendid Suns by Hassain (sp)
Pillars of the Earth (like 1000 pages but sooo good) by Follett
Nightfall by Nelson DeMille
Ok, I will stop...I have so many (I am an English teacher!)

I love many of Philippa Gregory's books.. all historical fiction.
Also by Anya Seton, I loved Katherine and Green Darkness-- both historical fiction.
Forever by Pete Hamill.
The Power of One by Bryce Courtney.
I Capture The Castle by Dodie Smith I think.
Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins.
Also, recently read-- Pillars of the Earth (don't bother reading the sequel, World Without End).
The Twilight series is a good mindless read. Also, if you have never read Harry Potter-- the series is amazing.
For some non-fiction stuff-- Freakonomics is great, as is any of Malcolm Gladwell's books.

I'm all about the chic lit.
Anything by Jane Green, Sophie Kinsella (shopaholic series) and Emily Griffin or Jennifer Weiner.
Diary of a Mad Bride and Diary of a Mad Mom to Be are really good too..I forgot the author.
