Additional Supplements?

Hi Everyone!!

I am taking my OTC Prenatals until tomorrows appointment but I was reading about Calcium and how important it is. I don't drink milk and honestly don't think I am getting enough calcium.

Should I be taking a Calcium supplement?

Anything else?

Re: Additional Supplements?

I would speak to your doctor about taking a calcium supplement. Also, you may get calcium from other sources (ie: yogurt, cheeses, etc...).

Re: Additional Supplements?

If you don't get calcium from other sources, I think it's very important to take a Calcium supplement - but check with your doctor first, of course.

I take an additional 1000mg of Calcium a day.

Re: Additional Supplements?

definitely talk to your Dr. I generally have high calcium, so I'm not worried about that.

I do take an additional B vitamin - it helps with the morning sickness.

what I take:

Target PreNatal
Folic Acid Supplement
DHA Supplement (suggested by my doc)

The first trimester is the most important....so talk to your doc about it tomorrow! Chat Icon Chat Icon
