How many days should u abstain from sex before having an iui?

I believe the rule is no more than 5- no less than 2.

Same here, but it can be hard to time when you don't know when the IUI is coming until the last minute.
We have had trouble knowing when DH has to "empty".

I was also told no less than 2. We've done them 2-3 days after BDing. It is hard to time it. We BD 1-2 days before the u/s to see about triggering. Then last time the dr. told us to trigger, BD and abstain 2 days for when we'd do the IUI. You can also ask your dr.

I say ask the RE for his/her specific instructions. I have gotten different instructions based on different triggers, and doing 1 vs. 2 IUI's, but 2 days prior seems to be the general rule of thumb...

THanks girls! We bd last night and I'm thinking it will be my final night before IUI. I should o in about 3 or 4 days:)
