Re: Ow

There are quite a few women on here that have dealt with the sciatica issues. My sciatica got so bad, the I decided to try PT for a few weeks and it did the trick. I was lucky enough that the sciatica only lasted for about 12 weeks or so---then I guess the baby changed positions and the pain has subsided a bit since about week 29. So, I went to PT for about 8 weeks and that seemed to work very well. Ice, stretching, and more ice work worked well at home for the early months.

Good luck!!! We feel for ya!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Ow

I have had it since about 6 weeks. I have had sciatic issues to begin with and I am assuming between the expanding and the weight I have gained that my sciatic is just going to be hurting for the next 7 months.

I know tylenol is supposed to help, but I just kind of grin (or not) and bear it.

Re: Ow

I am not preggo yet-but this is a huge issue for me. Take a hot bath and get an icy cold patch. Lay down and put a pillow under your knees.

Re: Ow

I had it with my last baby although it started later around 24 weeks. I went to acupuncture and it really helped!

Re: Ow

Yikes--you may want to see a chiropractor, or as someone else suggested, look into physical therapy. Have you had previous back/sciatic issues?

I hope you can find relief, I wouldn't wish 8 months of sciatic pain on anyone Chat Icon

Re: Ow

I had this in the beginning too. I placed a tennis ball on the floor and layed on top of it-letting it roll around on my back-- it helped somewhat!

Re: Ow

Thanks for the advice girls. Chat Icon

I have been using a heating pad just in the area it hurts in, and trying to stretch it out. Hopefully- it will go away on its own, otherwise I will have to take it a step further and get some outside help.
