What do you do to put yourself in a positive frame of mind?

I am going to look into acupuncture
get a meditation CD
try yoga
try not to let little things bother me
try not to get stressed at work Chat Icon

I am naturally very high strung so this is hard for me. What do you guys do?

I was thinking a pet would be soothing/relaxing but we rent so that is out of the question!

I need to change my way of thinking as well. I am also rather negative by nature.

For me, what got to me - after I got over the initial shock of #1 being a BFN - I read a quote that said something along the lines of "Only God knows what plans He has for you"...in other words, no matter how much we try to control the situation, much of it is out of our hands.

Secondly, the 2nd time around, I started taking an active approach in what could be done differently - and that included medication, acupuncture, yoga and even natural herbs. The way I saw it, it was like - what kind of variants can I add that were not there the last time?

The acu & yoga helped tremendously with my stress levels....esp the acu -the sessions were very relaxing and helped me to visualize positive thoughts.

Basically I allow myself time to grieve and then pick myself up (or allow someone else to pick me up like my DH or someone on here Chat Icon) and I start to figure out what my 'silver lining' was in the bad experience that I just went through, and that starts to bring me hope...
Then I do as PPs do as well- I usually find inspirational quotes that help me to realize that this is not permanent, it's only temporary. This year I bought a "God grant me the serenity..." journal - that's what it says on the cover, and it has inspirational (not all biblical) quotes on every other page. Sometimes they're exactly what I need to see that day. Chat Icon
I also bought an inspirational quotes planner for this year, and it has calming beautiful photographs with quotes on every other page as well.
Then I HAVE to have a plan. I have to know what my next steps are, usually in my 2ww, but def. shortly after a failed cycle. It allows me to put the past behind me and start to focus on my next steps. Chat Icon

Like MrsMessina, I give myself a period to just be sad, mad, tired, or whatever. But then I dust off and slowly build back up. I've started yoga again, which has been helpful just to quiet my thoughts and calm me. And I come on here and love hearing about all the success stories, gives me hope. Chat Icon

Re: What do you do to put yourself in a positive frame of mind?

Acupuncture helped a lot, as did therapy. Therapy REALLY helped me to redirect my negative thoughts to positive ones, and focus on the excitement and energy of the process, rather than the depressing aspects of it. That, and I started eating more healthy and focusing on myself more - I figured, until I could have my baby, I could at least have my health and my appearance. So I started eating right and walking for an hour and a half a day.

Those daily walks really helped me clear my head...
