When do they adjust your Due Date?
if they tell you the baby is measuring bigger than what your weeks are (For instance, they told me the baby was 13W1D and I was only 12W5D) does that change how many weeks you say you are and your due date???? My dr. told me they only adjust your due date if it is big difference but I notice a lot of girls on here mention that their DD changes.
i am confused!

Im 34 weeks tomorrow and was told that baby was measuring 13 days a head. They haven't changed due date yet. So far the only talk of them chaning do date is if i have a csection.

Well see that makes sense to me bc 13 seems like a big difference. My dr told me 10-14 day difference. But then I notice some girls on here saying that their DD changed by like 5-7 days so I was confused.

Usually I believe they only change it for 5-7 days more on a first trimester ultrasound.
I had calculated my DD based on when I think I may have ovulated (I started OPK testing too late that cycle) to be 4/2/09. Apparently, my 3 sonos measured my DD between 3/30 & 4/1 so my midwife changed it to 3/31. I'm not sure why, but it was only two days so I figure it really didn't matter much. I think it's because it my case I wasn't going by the standard LMP date to begin with. Baby will comes when he's ready.

Sometimes they change it, but most of the time it is not from growth sonos. My baby was born early at 11 pounds 8 ounces. At 32 or 34 weeks (can't remember) he was measuring at 8 pounds 12 ounces. They still didn't change my due date, even though he was already bigger than most 'normal' newborns.

My doctor said that they won't adjust the due date even if the sono says something different- they'll cont to go by the original due date they came up with!

my SIL and doctor told me that it's normal to measure large or small - but that they will not adjust your date until they have a 'few' confirmations of a new date - in other words - your last 2 sonos said you are 2 weeks ahead, etc...

when i went to the ultrasound yesterday the doc said they dont change it except...
1 week off in 1st trimester
2 weeks off in 2nd
3 weeks off in 3rd...

As far as I know, my doctor locks in the due date using measurements from one of the sonograms. I can't remember what week he locks it in. He feels that's most accurate and that there would be a reason for measurements to deviate drastically from that. I believe that it depends on your doctor's school of thought.

Both my DC's measured 2 weeks plus ahead and they have never adjusted my DD...According to my Dr. - big baby doesnt mean " mature" baby, so it was always left as is

This is the norm from what the sono tech told me. Also, at the Level II if the baby is measuring more than 2 weeks ahead or is above 90% in all the measurements they may change the date if necessary (ie, for a 2nd c-section...) and even then they try to wait for the growth sono around 32 weeks to see if the advanced growth remains consitent.
The EDD has a 2 week swing either way anyway, so that is why they do not go nuts changing it....only if it is needed for medical reasons, like to schedule a c-section.

My DS measured big throughout my pregnancy and was a little over 9 lbs when he was born. They never adjusted my DD, but he was 2.5 weeks early.

They changed mine in the 1st tri, but it went back to the original DD calculated bc of LMP in the 2nd tri.
