Good idea?
I have been thinking more and more about this lately, and wanted to get your thoughts. I mentioned it to a few others on our board who thought there would be a benefit to it.
IF is SUCH a rollercoaster ride... and whether you're just starting out or have been on the IF road for a while, it's still overwhelming at times.
I was thinking about making a monthly GTG, not a support group, but sort of I guess. Just where we can come together and meet to discuss what we're up to, what we're feeling positive about as well as negative about, etc... just so we can be there for one another as well as have the support of somone who is going or has gone through it.
Would anyone want to do this? I was thinking we could either make it one night during the week at a certain time (ie: the 2nd tuesday of the month at 7pm or whatever) OR alternate each month and make every other month a night during the week and then the alternating month an afternoon on a Saturday (or morning, evening, whatever...)
I figured the start of the new year was a perfect day to suggest this and get everyone's opinons.

im in! i think its a great idea. i have met some wonderful people on here already thru gtg and chat. Honestly you ladies along with my dh, mother and sisters have been my rock when i mc last month. For that i thank you so much!

I think it's a great idea. I already this of this board as a support group, but to meet in person would probably be even more helpful for all of us.

And although some have graduated, others have chosen a different path, and some continue on this road...we remain close friends and still GTG whenever we can!
So I say, go for it.

It's a great idea and as Lisa and Kara said...my best friends are from this board and the GTG's we did.
But, I think monthly might be too much. First, it would get expensive and secondly, it would be hard for people to make every GTG.
A few times a year is probably more realistic.

Oh, I didn't mean everyone should attend monthly (though they could if they want to  ) I was actually thinking about sometimes hosting at ppls houses as well, if that was convenient for others...
My ILs are in Bellport which is where my studio is, and I was thinking about doing a GTG there. It would depend on where ppl were coming from though- all Suffolk or mid-nassau would be able to make the trip but I know there are ppl from Queens, NJ, etc... so sometimes more mid-island would work better- it would all depend on who was coming. That's also why I was thinking of making it every other month at diff. times so some ppl who couldn't come during the week could come on a weekend or whatever.
I'm glad the response seems positive though.

I was thinking 1x a month! Hope you'd be able to come! We could even alternate the location so it's convenient every other month!

Shannon, I think it is a great idea! I live in Queens and would be more than happy to host a GTG (though weekend would work best for me)!!!!
I also think switching up the locations is a good idea!

I think its a wonderful idea and that you ladies will get so much from these gtgs.
I have met some of my best friends from this board and I consider them all aunties for my 
the support and friendship you can get from each other is immeasurable
