New Years Eve and Pregnancy?
What is everyone doing for New Years Eve?
Since I am pregnant, it would be a waste for us to go to some expensive place, since you are mostly paying for an open bar. Besides, with the baby coming, we have to watch our $$$ (we were hoping to go to Land's End this year, but decided not to b/c of money ).
Any recommendations for something fun, not too crazy, and not too expensive?

Re: New Years Eve and Pregnancy?
I'm due in 5 weeks, so we are staying local this year. Going to a nice dinner at a steak house near us, just the two of us. That's about it... nothing exciting. I'll be lucky if we get home and I'm able to stay awake until midnight!

We decided to have everyone come to our house because then if I am tired I can just go to bed. It should be an interesting new years!

Hopefully I will be in the hospital at that point. If not, we are planning to go to DH's aunt for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Re: New Years Eve and Pregnancy?
Even before I was pregnant, my days of going out on NYE have been long over. I feel like it is ametuer night and just not worth the hassle of all the drunk idiots on the road. And besides, I haven't made 12 am yet during this pregnancy.
So we will be home, and sitting cozy on our couch!

Re: New Years Eve and Pregnancy?
I want to stay home. I'm so exhausted, and I am working all NYE day, and have an OB appt after work, so it's already a really long day.
DH, on the other hand, feels we should celebrate it being our last baby-free NYE. Being the only one not drinking, I envision me driving all the drunks home after a night of partying, when I HATE being on the road NYE.
My idea of the perfect PG NYE would be going out to a nice dinner with DH, then watching some movies at home while eating some appetizers, and going to bed soon after midnight!

Re: New Years Eve and Pregnancy?
we've never gone out on NYE. We're not big drinkers anyway, so we usually make some appetizers and watch the ball drop from the comfort of the couch

Re: New Years Eve and Pregnancy?
I would like to do something, but DH is working and everyone else I know is going to a bar or big party somewhere, and being 31 weeks pregnant, I don't think I can handle it! I guess I will see where the night takes me, if anywhere!

Re: New Years Eve and Pregnancy?
We are going to a friends house party and they don't know I am pregnant yet, i think they will find out when I am not having my wine cocktail! We might have to tell them too because I will want to go to bed right after the ball drops!

Re: New Years Eve and Pregnancy?
We've never really gone out for NYE even before the pregnancy. Last year we had a bunch of friends over to our house and spent it with them. But they're all going out this year so we'll be spending New Years at home on the couch. I'm actually pretty excited just to relax with DH all night.
