OK so here's the latest...
First off, sorry I have not posted much, I am just trying to regroup and figure out what to do, I am still here lurking though!
I saw Dr. Brenner on the 23rd. We discussed the 2 cancelled cycles and me not having a response to the meds, i.e., no or few follies. Just to refresh I did the Lupron first with bc pills then without and they canceled both cycles.
He said due to my age and my balanced translocation I can either try once more, or consider donor egg or adoption. My next choice would be donor egg, but the cost is just going to kill us if it comes to that. I am turning 42 in less than 2 weeks and they said after the holidays they will set me up for a new cycle. I know alot of you have told me to try Cornell, it is just so hard for me because DH & I work full time out here in Suffolk. I will keep you all updated!

I forgot to mention he said the protocol he used was the most aggressive. In a way , donor egg almost comforts me because i am so fearful of my translocation problem. Even doing PGD on my own eggs , if I ever get that far, will have me nervous due to the trnaslocation and thinking they missed something. This was IVF we were doing.

there are other protocols that are aggressive. I've learned from the ladies here and from the nurses at Cornell.
I know Cornell is a PIA but they have a garden city office for monitoring and you can get that early in the am.
I would go see Dr. Davis at Cornell just for a consult. You may be surprised at what you will learn.

Personally, if I were in your shoes - I would go DE.
Your cost is going to be about the same and you have a much better chance of success.
But, the final decision is definitely yours and I truly wish you much luck and with whatever you decide.

Thanks all. Well all our IVF costs are covered, including the PGD, so the DE would come out of pocket. I think I may go for a consult at Cornell, THEN if they tell me the same thing that Brenner tells me, we will see about the DE. I will let you ladies know what I do!
