Umbilical Cord Help
My son is 3 weeks today and just lost his umbilical cord. The problem is that there is mucus/pus in his belly button and it's scaring me. His onesies have had blood spotting on them the last week and I thought this was the normal process for the umbilical cord falling off. Now today that I saw the mucus/pus I'm very concerned.
Has this happened to anyone? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. There is no odor to the area and it's not green but it's more cream/light yellow color. Should I call the doctor tomorrow on Christmas or wait until Friday?
TIA!

My son had the same thing, but it wasn't an infection. We put alcohol on i to dry it out.
But, you should call your doctor immediately. If it is infected it should be treated immediately.

Thank you. I hope he doesn't have an infection I'll call first thing in the morning...Unless you think I should call now. I don't see them doing anything about it though because it's late at night.
