Another trip to L&D... and no babies yet!
I went for a BPP at my dr. office on Tuesday night. I thought I was feeling contractions and turns out I was right, so off to L&D we went.
There were some pretty good contractions going on, but still my cervix was all closed up. They said that if my cervix was changing, they would deliver me, but since it wasn't I wasn't in labor, so they tried to stop the contractions. First they gave be terb, which worked but made me feel all shaky and crappy. The doctor who came in the next day told me that he wouldn't send me home on terb so he increased the procardia. I was still having contractions, but my cervix was staying the same and they made me stay overnight again on wed. I was checked again Thurs. morning and still cervix was closed, so they let me go home.
I am off of bed rest now that I am 36 weeks. I am still taking procardia. They found me heparin, so now at least I don't have to worry until that.
I have an amnio scheduled for 12/29 and section for 12/30, but I have an appointment on monday, so depending on what is going on then, I might have the amnio this monday and section THIS tuesday. Either way, these babies should be here in less than two weeks! They don't think I am really going to make it to 12/30 because my uterus has had enough, lol.
At least now I know what a real contraction feels like and if I do go into labor on my own, I don't have to worry about the whole lovenox thing!!

Yes, to make sure the baby's lungs are mature.

You have made it pretty far for twins-- so, while all this L&D experience is I am sure stressful, the babies are still cooking! You are probably so sick of being inside a hospital room!

I agree with Randi - you've made it a long way with twins, and every day closer to week 37 is a day closer to them being born full term. Hang in there, mama, your babies are almost done!
